On the Greek islands the quad and the scooter are the business, and they are where things go wrong: riders without the right licence, no helmet, a quad taken onto a beach. The new Highway Code of 2025 raised fines and lets the police remove plates and licences for serious offences. This agreement is written for that.

What the Greece version covers

Licences. Category B for cars; AM, A1, A2 or A for motorbikes as the engine requires; for quads, the category the registration requires, checked at handover. A visitor from outside the EU carries an International Driving Permit unless Greece accepts the licence on its own, as it does UK licences.

Helmets and quads. Rider and passenger wear a helmet you provide; quads stay off beaches, dunes and tracks. In June 2026 the government announced stricter quad rules, including five years of licence-holding for quad renters; that is not written in as law until it is in force, so check before the season.

Ferries and borders. Another island only with your permission; never Albania, North Macedonia or Turkey.

Language and data. English beside Greek, with the renter-friendly reading where they differ, and the Hellenic Data Protection Authority as regulator.

Every EU version also follows EU consumer law: prices shown with every compulsory charge included, damage charged only at its evidenced cost and never above the excess when a damage waiver applies, no keeping the whole deposit as a penalty, and the 14-day withdrawal right not applying to car rental for set dates. Fines and renter details follow the GDPR, and the renter signs on paper or electronically, both valid under eIDAS.
