German courts read rental terms as standard business terms (BGB sections 305 to 310): unclear or surprising clauses and flat-rate damages higher than the real loss don't hold. This version keeps charges to actual, evidenced costs and lets the renter prove a lower loss.

What the Germany version covers

Fines. When the authorities send a hearing letter for an offence during the rental, you name the renter as the driver; parking costs charged to you as keeper (StVG section 25a) are passed on.

Licences. Visitors from outside the EU can drive for six months, with a translation where needed (FeV section 29); B196 allows 125 cc for drivers over 25.

Winter. In wintry conditions only winter or all-season tyres with the Alpine symbol are allowed (StVO section 2(3a)).

Zones. Umweltzonen need the green sticker, which you provide.

Every EU version also follows EU consumer law: prices shown with every compulsory charge included, damage charged only at its evidenced cost and never above the excess when a damage waiver applies, no keeping the whole deposit as a penalty, and the 14-day withdrawal right not applying to car rental for set dates. Fines and renter details follow the GDPR, and the renter signs on paper or electronically, both valid under eIDAS.
