A spreadsheet that works out what each car or scooter really earns: income by season, running costs, depreciation, payback and break-even days.
Most small rental businesses know their daily price but not what a vehicle really earns once the slow months, insurance, servicing and the drop in its value are counted. This spreadsheet does that sum for you.
Change the yellow cells for one car or scooter: what you paid, your prices, how many days it's rented in high, normal and low season, and your running costs. The sheet works out income per year, profit after depreciation, how many months it takes to pay the vehicle back, and the number of rented days a month you need just to break even.
It's useful before you buy (is a second Fortuner worth it, or four more scooters?) and when you set prices for the season. The example numbers are only there to show how it works: replace them with yours.
If you're starting out, read How to start a motorbike or scooter rental business alongside it. And once you're running, RoveHQ records real bookings, payments and costs per vehicle, so you can check the plan against what actually happens.
